This Sunday (18th January), we were thrilled to welcome the Kinders back for their first session of the new year! Despite the chilly weather, 24 of our youngest rugby stars braved the cold, bundled up in their layers, and brought their boundless energy to the pitch.
The morning was packed with fun and games to keep everyone warm and smiling. Favourites like Animal Crackers, Tag Rugby, and Bulldog made their usual appearances, but the highlight of the day was a brand-new game called Protect the King!
In this game, players were split into groups of four: three formed a triangle, with one player proudly wearing a ‘tail,’ while the fourth player tried their best to grab it. The result? Lots of spinning, quick footwork, and heaps of laughter as the players darted and dodged to keep their tail safe. It was an instant hit!
After an energetic round of Bulldog, we wrapped up the session with our much-anticipated presentations of TREDS certificates. A huge well done to those who earned their certificates this week—you truly demonstrated teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline, and sportsmanship!
We couldn’t end the session without a group photo, and let’s just say the Kinders didn’t disappoint! From cheesy grins to hilariously strange faces, it was a picture-perfect moment to capture the fun of the day.
Thank you to all the players and their families for making it such a fantastic session. We can’t wait to see everyone back next week—hopefully with a bit more sunshine and a little less frost!
