This Sunday (26th January), our Kinders squad faced their toughest opponent yet… the weather! With strong winds howling across the pitch and a definite winter chill in the air, our youngest rugby stars showed incredible spirit, proving that a little bad weather can’t dampen their enthusiasm for the game. Layered up and raring to go, the Kinders brought their energy and determination to the pitch, ready to tackle another action-packed session.

The focus this week was all about mastering one of rugby’s most essential skills: passing! Working in pairs, the players practiced short, accurate passes while standing just three feet apart. The challenge? Ensuring the ball left their hands cleanly and landed right where it was meant to go. It was incredible to see their confidence build with each pass, as they began to understand how teamwork and communication are at the heart of the game. Whether it was quick hand-offs or deliberate throws, the Kinders proved that they’re already well on their way to becoming future playmakers.

Of course, it wasn’t all hard work—there was plenty of fun and laughter to keep everyone’s spirits high, even in the chilly wind! Moments like these are what make our sessions so special: seeing the players learn, bond with their teammates, and simply enjoy being out on the pitch together.

At the end of the session, we celebrated some standout performances with our newly designed TREDS certificates— These certificate celebrate players who have demonstrated one of rugby’s core values:

• Respect – Showing great sportsmanship and listening well.
• Enjoyment – Bringing enthusiasm and a love for the game.
• Discipline – Following instructions and staying focused.
• Sportsmanship – Playing fairly and encouraging others.

A huge well done to all our certificate winners—you earned it! Seeing the smiles on their faces as they received their awards was a fantastic reminder of why we do this. These values are at the heart of rugby, and it’s amazing to watch our Kinders squad embrace them at such a young age.

A massive thank-you, as always, to the parents and families who came out to support the Kinders, cheering them on from the sidelines (and braving the weather alongside them!). Your encouragement means the world to these young players and helps to create the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes Camberley Rugby Club so special.

We can’t wait to see everyone back next Sunday for more fun, learning, and rugby adventures. Fingers crossed for a little sunshine next week, but whatever the forecast, we know one thing for sure—the Kinders will be ready!
