We are coming to the end of the 2024-25 season. It does seem to have gone very quickly and our senior men’s 1st XV could finish 3rd behind two very strong sides, London Welsh and Jersey. We have one home match left – Wimbledon on 5th April, 3.00p.m. kick off with lunch at 1.00p.m..

Please support our final league matches (both 1st XV and 2nd XV) against Wimbledon on 5th April. It will be the President’s, Vice Presidents’ and Life Members’ Day and club stalwart Chris Gibson has also kindly offered to sponsor this day too.

Some of our Vice Presidents have already said they are willing to help sponsor the day through an “Honours Board Sponsorship”. The lunch is £20 (book here) and I would suggest we add a further minimum of £20 each towards sponsoring the club which can be done via the website here under “shop” – General Club Donations. This would be a great boost for the club and apart from the donation I have felt for some time that we do not honour our Vice Presidents and Life Members other than having our names on a board. I’d like this “day” to be an annual event rather than just for the President but for all who have contributed towards this great Rugby Club. So I hope we can make it a great success not only on the field but also off it.

5th April is a treble header, with the Women at Basingstoke and our 2nd XV also playing Wimbledon at Camberley. The Women’s team is at the top of their league with two matches to go.

Please put this date (5th April) in your diaries and do sign up for the pre-match lunch – let’s have a great turn out.

I know that many of you still contribute towards the club in many ways and it gives us an opportunity to thank you all for that.
