Safeguarding is a fundamental responsibility for our club, and we are committed to creating a safe, positive and inclusive environment for every child and young person who takes part in rugby. For us, safeguarding means protecting children from abuse, neglect and poor practice, while actively promoting their welfare, development and enjoyment. We believe that every young player has the right to participate in rugby in a secure, encouraging and age‑appropriate setting where their wellbeing always comes first.

As a club, we ensure that all adults working with children — coaches, volunteers, match officials and support staff — are suitable, appropriately vetted and recruited using safer‑recruitment principles. We maintain clear reporting routes so concerns can be raised easily and handled promptly, and we work closely with statutory agencies whenever necessary. We also encourage children and parents to speak up, ask questions and feel confident that their voices will be heard.

By embedding safeguarding into our everyday practice, we uphold rugby’s core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship. Our commitment to safeguarding helps young players feel safe, supported and inspired, allowing them to grow, learn and thrive both on and off the pitch.
